Ed McMahon won't get kicked out of his house -- Donald Trump is buying it

There's a happy ending for former Johnny Carson sidekick and Star Search host Ed McMahon, who has for months been facing foreclosure of his Beverly Hills home. He had defaulted on his $4.8 million loan from Countrywide, and has been unable to work because of a neck injury he sustained 18 months ago.  Donald Trump is buying the property and will become his landlord,  leasing it back to McMahon.  And no doubt McMahon will now be worked into an upcoming episode of "The Apprentice".

"I don't know the man, but I grew up watching him on TV," Trump said in an exclusive interview with The Times.

Trump said he stepped in because helping McMahon "would be an honor." His plan is to buy the home from the lender and lease it back to McMahon.

"When I was at the Wharton School of Business," Trump said, "I'd watch him every night. How could this happen?"

What a joke, the only reason DT is doing this is for the publicity, he does not even know the man, and if he was doing it out of the goodness of his heart, then why has he not helped out the thousands of other people that have small children that are being locked out of their homes...I am sorry, but Ed does not need such a huge house, and he got himself in this mess, he should have to suffer the penalty like so many unlucky folks have. Just because they are not past celebrities, no one seems to care.
