Vault's 2007 Top 50 Banking Employers survey ranks Goldman #1 in prestige
The 2007 Vault Top 50 Banking Employers rankings are out. The survey ranks the top investment banking firms in terms of prestige and also in regard to quality of life issues. Predictably, Goldman Sachs comes out #1 in terms of prestige. Morgan Stanley is #2, Blackstone is #3, Lehman Brothers is #4 and JP Morgan is #5.
As for quality of life catgegories, they include compensation, hours, offices, selectivity, quality of managers, etc., as well as diversity rankings. In terms of overall satisfaction with the quality of life, Houlihan Lokey rated #1, Lehman #2, Goldman #3, Credit Suisse #4 and Friedman Billings #5.
Compensation satisfaction was a little surprising. Goldman only rated #8. As far as overall satisfaction with the number of hours worked, Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Lehman aren't even in the top 10. How utterly shocking.
