Scores of hedge fund with even moderate redemptions seem to have recently locked their gates, putting restrictions on withdrawals. Not so T. Boone Pickens. His BP Capital equity fund has a 65% redemption rate and he's taken the opposite tack, allowing his investors to redeem early with the firm voluntarily waiving the required notice period.

More bad news for Boone Pickens. With his hedge fund down some $2 billion since it's June 08 peak, many of his investors are bailing:
About half of the investors in T. Boone Pickens's energy-oriented equity hedge fund have asked to withdraw their money on the heels of losses of about 60% this year, according to people close to the matter. Mr. Pickens and his investment firm have lost $2 billion since peaking in late June, Mr. Pickens said Sunday on the CBS program "60 Minutes."
